‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ and ‘Dead Man Down’ open in theaters nationwide, including Huntsville, on Friday, March 8.
Moviegoers in Huntsville who can't wait to revisit the Land of Oz can see the film earlier on Thursday starting at 9 p.m. at Regal Hollywood 18, Carmike Valley Bend 18 and Monaco Pictures.

The new film from Disney is shot in 3D and chronicles the adventures of Oscar, a small-time magician from Kansas, who is hurled into the Land of Oz, where the inhabitants believe he is the great wizard expected to save the land from evil.
Directed by Sam Raimi (‘Spider-Man’), ‘Oz’ stars James Franco in the title role and Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams as the witches.
Rated PG. Runtime: 2 hours, 7 minutes.

Polev directed the acclaimed 2009 Swedish version of ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,’ which also starred Rapace.
