Owner surrenders 13-year-old German shepherd to animal control

Update 4/12/14: Rescued by Thulani Dogs!

On March 27, a 13-year-old German shepherd named "Duke," was surrendered by his owner to the South Los Angeles Animal Care and Control in Calif.

Unfortunately, at his advanced age, Duke is well beyond the point of being "highly adoptable."

Despite Duke's age, he is still amazingly handsome and full of life - he is certainly not ready to die.

Duke is described as very people friendly, and good with other dogs, as is evidenced by this touching video which was recently taken at the facility. In the video, you can see just how beautiful Duke is, as well as the spark of life and intelligence in his eyes.

Please take a moment to network on Duke's behalf - he was let down by his prior owner and it now relying on the kindness of strangers to leave this busy animal control facility.
