Owner died and dog sits at busy animal control waiting to be saved

Update: Adopted!!

On May 4, a beautiful pit bull named "Coco," found herself locked inside of an unfamiliar kennel run at the Moreno Valley Animal Services facility in Calif., after her guardian died.

Coco is not with her guardian's family because the facility has been unable to locate the owner's next-of-kin. The Friends of Moreno Valley Shelter Animals wrote:

We contacted the shelter, as Coco's available date changed from May 11th to NOW. We sadly learned Coco is here because her owner passed away. They have not been able to thus far locate a next of kin. Please share Coco far and wide, as this poor girl lost her owner. Her world has just been turned upside down

In order for this gorgeous, four-year-old dog to walk free from this facility, she is in need of help. She did not ask to be here and what happens next is completely out of her control. The Friends of Moreno Valley Shelter Animals has advised those individuals who are interested in helping to ask for a temperament test - they wrote:

In order to get temp test, rescue or individuals need to email shelter director Steve Fries ( and and request one. They should state the specifics of what they want the test to cover (big dogs, little dogs, cats, food, all of the above). The more specific you are the greater the chance of getting a thorough temp test.

Please take a moment to network Coco's information:
