Tis the season for ghosts, goblins and owls! Join the Highlands Ranch Metro District Friday, Oct. 11 for a special presentation on the Secret Lives of Owls. The program is presented by Wild Wings Environmental Education, a local non-profit organization that promotes the respect of wild animals and the environments where they live.

Program guests will get to explore this mysterious and secluded animal while interacting with live owls. These animal ambassadors assist the Wild Wings presenters in educating people about the various species of owls found in Colorado. Participants will also learn about the many adaptations owls make to survive in the wild including their night vision, directional hearing and silent flight.

Secret Lives of Owls is open to participants ages three and older. The program is held at Plum Creek Academy, 9340 Commerce Center St., Highlands Ranch from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m.. Pre-registration is required. You can register online at www.highlandsranch.org or in person at the Metro District Parks, Recreation & Open Space Service Center, 3280 Redstone Park Circle. The program costs $10 for residents or $12 for non-residents. For more information call 303-791-2710.
