You Tube has posted a number of videos of the Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment protesters that show how conservative people not only demonstrate peacefully but get a lot of support from passing drivers. However, there are a couple of videos you will see from the links in this article that show the police impeding the protesters’ First Amendment rights and using aggression to try to force them to stop their demonstration.
One such incident was at an overpass protest in St. Charles, Missouri where several police cars parked at the site and there were about eight policemen approaching the protesters. There were only two protesters and there was no interference with traffic flow, there were no chants, nothing that could be construed as being a traffic hazard or posing any danger to anyone. They were just peacefully exercising their First Amendment rights as protected by the Constitution. However, during this peaceful protest, the police felt it their right to impede those rights as they insisted that they had the right to tell them to stop or they would be arrested. They offered no reason for why they would be arrested other than they were causing a traffic hazard which they were not and refused to leave as requested. When the protesters refused to leave, one officer put his arm around the neck of one of the two protesters, pulled him to the ground and handcuffed him while his friend was also being handcuffed. It’s important to note here that the protester was not resisting the officer at all. So why was it necessary for him to take him down to the ground the way he did? He could have just cuffed him. There’s more to this video and you can see it for yourself at: http://youtu.be/tyV_8BKwrlc .
Now, just think for a minute. Would this have happened if they were Muslims protesting something like, maybe our laws? Would they have pushed one of them to the ground and handcuffed them, treating them like common criminals? Would their right to free speech and free expression of speech been compromised at all? Do you all realize that officers behaving in the way they did are attempts to take away our rights to free speech. They don’t want to hear anything except that you obey what they tell you to do. Your rights have no bearing with them; they couldn’t care less. It does pose a question, however. What if the roles were reversed and they were protesting something evil that was hurting them and their families? Would they just give up and say, “Okay, officer, I’ll do whatever you say?” What do you think?
Here’s another example of police using unnecessary force with another protester. In this video, there are three un-numbered police cars. One protester crosses the highway to protect his sign and flag that he has posted there. Shortly after he got there, what looks like a city vehicle pulled up on the sidewalk where he was standing and when he got his cutting tool out, he motioned to the police who were standing on the other side of the highway.
They came over while the sign was being cut down. The protester pleaded for them not to cut it down. While he was telling them that they were violating his First Amendment rights, the officers came over telling the protester that they were going to arrest him. The protester was not being given a reason for his arrest. Again, one officer shoved this man and caused him to fall backwards. You should be able to view this video at http://youtu.be/82ETW-Y-IxY or http://youtu.be/jl2KqOHLBc8 but when tried from a word document, it says this video is no longer available. You can try it, but if you get the same message, simply go to YouTube and in the search box type in Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment.
There will be videos listed on the right hand side; scroll down until you come to either of two videos but it’s good to watch them both. One is The SS assault Impeach Obama Overpass protester and the other is Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment Protester Shoved by CHP officer.
Of course, all of the videos cannot be listed here, but here are a few and others you can look up on YouTube yourself.
In this video, Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment-New Mexico, a policeman told protesters in a very civil manner that they could not keep their signs up on the overpass because of some specific ordinance that he had in his hand to show them. He was courteous, not demanding, but did have a copy of the ordinance to give them and he said that he asked specifically what he should point out when he approached the protesters. He said he had no problem with them moving to the sidewalk with their signs, but because of the ordinance they could not do it there. The protesters were very gracious to the officer, as well. This is how police business should be handled especially when there is no aggression or threats coming from the protesters.
Those officers who act like they are all powerful and laud it over the protesters that they are police officers and must be obeyed are nothing but a bunch of bullies. They need to learn how to approach people who are doing nothing but exercising their freedom of speech. If you approach them with civility, they will cooperate. Give them an alternative; just don’t run them off and make them look like they’re breaking the law. Never is there any reason to man-handle them or get physical in any way. The protesters are protesting against someone who has intruded on their lives, is trying to take everything away from them and has broken just about every Constitutional law he can. They have the right to protest and they do it peacefully.
It seems that there are always those law enforcement officers who think they have a right to bully people around and arrest people for nothing more than expressing their disgust and anger at a totalitarian Obama regime. Heaven forbid that we the people should show our disapproval of our traitor-in-chief. We have every right to disagree with anyone who tries to destroy our country from within or without. It makes you wonder sometimes if any of these bully policemen have ever read the Constitution or know anything that's in it. Is this really the way they were taught when they were in training to treat regular peace-loving, peace-keeping citizens? If it is, it's amazing that there are still officers who know how to handle peaceful protest situations.
It seems like there are some police who spend much too much time harassing peaceful demonstrations by regular citizens and they always seem to send so many officers to "keep the peace." Doesn't it seem like they should be spending more time trying to go after real criminals and showing up at rallies that aren't peaceful and present real danger to individuals in the area, There have been incidences where people have been attacked and beaten and the police were either to scared to go after the perpetrators of the violence or they just didn't care enough to get involved. Isn't that what their duty is--to get involved when there is violence and people are getting hurt? This is very disturbing to see instances where police are negligent in their duty and yet more times than not, nothing is done about it. The perpetrators get away with what they are doing and the officers who didn't do anything to try to stop it are still on the job. That certainly doesn't make one feel safe and confident in trusting the police.
On a brighter side, here are some links to some other Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment events that went very well. Here’s one that you will like. It’s not certain where this one took place, but it shows there’s some military support for the overpass protests. http://youtu.be/cqHLEPdjMLo
At the Denver OFOI things seemed to go unhindered without any infringement of First Amendment rights. Passing cars and trucks gave their support as evidenced in the YouTube video by honking their horns and guess what? No one was in danger and no accidents resulted from the peaceful demonstration. Aren’t the liberal leftists always saying that conservatives are hateful, aggressive and racist when they demonstrate? They never say anything good when it is conservatives protesting. http://youtu.be/zfzSVzctEhI
As these protests continue across the country, let’s hope that those who participate will be able to do so without getting threats or being manhandled by the police as we have seen in a couple of these videos. Our freedom of speech is really being threatened by the liberal left because they don’t want anyone to be able to disagree with our traitor-in-chief. As long as we have any strong conservatives our voices will not be silenced and we will continue to protest against any infringement of our Constitutional rights.
May God shine His light on us as a Nation and may we, as a Nation turn our hearts to Him.
