Overeaters Anonymous founder dies

Founder of Overeaters Anonymous dies at age 84. Rozanne S. died peacefully on January 16, she developed the support group for over eaters in 1960 with the idea that O.A would be known nationally. Today it is a national support group.

Overeaters Anonymous is a recovery program for compulsive eaters. The program provides twelve steps and twelve traditions of O.A. Worldwide meetings and other tools provide support and encouragement with anonymity. Overeaters Anonymous charges no dues or fees; it is supported by member contributions.

OA does not focus solely on weight loss, or weight gain. It gets to the core of the overeating which can cause obesity. Overeaters learn to address the emotional aspects of compulsive behavior and spiritual well-being. OA is not a religious organization and does not promote any specific diet plan.
