Overcome financial worry by helping others in need

Darkness or light - which should we strive toward?
Darkness or light - which should we strive toward?
Kristen Wilkerson

In times of financial difficulty it is sometimes possible to lose sight of the light. In other words, when worry overtakes your life it becomes difficult to prioritize service to others. Instead, remember that God provides for your needs. Somehow, with a bit of effort on your part and steadfast trust in providence, you will be fine.

God asks that we give to others no matter how tough times are for ourselves. How can you do this, though, without any money? Either through a group or by yourself, give of your time. Perhaps you could deliver meals to shut-ins. If gas money is a concern, then volunteer at a cancer resale shop or a homeless shelter. If you sing or have a musical instrument, you could coordinate with the music director and play a solo at an upcoming church service. Giving to others helps lift one's spirits, so it is a great way to lower your stress level.

Well stated Kristen and a wonderful reminder for us all. Happy Thanksgiving and our church has service (for about an hour) to give thanks to God for all that He has done and continues to do.
