While the team at 4J Studios is currently enjoying a holiday break before returning to work on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of Minecraft in 2014, the developer revealed on their official Twitter account on Dec 26 that the recently released PS3 edition of the blocky sandbox creation game has now seen over half a million players.
It was confirmed that the Minecraft: PS3 Edition leaderboards reached the milestone of 500,000 listed users on Thursday. Considering the fact that the Playstation 3 version of the game initially launched just last week, it looks like 4J Studios is on track to see the same kind of success that the Xbox 360 edition of the titles has been blessed with. Since its release in May of last year, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has now sold over 10 million copies.
Minecraft: PS3 Edition is out now as a digital download from the PS Store. Versions of the popular series are also coming to the Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita next year.
