It was believed by the Sheriff’s Office that a huge amount of money, weapons and drugs were in the home, which led agents from a special unit to execute a search warrant in the High Rock Lake area where the home is located.
What was found in the home was $1,439,476.28, an assault weapon, handguns, body armor, ammunition and two vehicles.
Investigators think the money is from drug trafficking.
The money was taken to a Charlotte bank to be counted and placed into an official check. Homeland Security is conducting a Federal asset forfeiture of the money.
No arrests were made but the investigation in continuing.
The United States Department of Homeland Security, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the Pineville Police Department were among other agencies helping with the investigation.
