Over 40 rockets aimed at Israeli cities today

The situation in Israel is getting more intense by the hour, since the murder of the three kidnapped teenagers in the West Bank. Today at 07:58 P.M. IDT, The Jerusalem Post reported that over 40 rockets have been fired from Gaza, hitting targets in Israel.

These rockets targeted civilians in Israeli cities. The Israeli Defense Forces’ twitter account announced today that it has confirmed that a rocket hit Israel’s capital city Jerusalem. It has also been reported that the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system near the cities of Tel Aviv and Rishon Lezion.

The IDF’s spokesperson also announced that they had responded to the rocket attacks, by hitting 50 terror targets today. Their response today brings the IDF’s total to 200, since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge.

In addition to the stated 50 terror targets hit today, the Associated Press reported that the IDF has mobilized for a possible ground invasion. According to them, the Israeli government has authorized an extra 40 thousand troops if required for this ongoing operation.

According to CNN, Hamas claimed responsibility for today’s rocket attacks on the Israeli cities of Haifa and Jerusalem. The terrorist group and political faction vowed according to the New York Times, Monday that they would ahvenge the death of their six fighters, who were killed as a result of Israeli strikes in Gaza.

What will happen in the next few days, no one really knows but new information will be posted as it becomes available to this examiner.
