Oval UFO photographed over Detroit River

A Michigan witness reports observing a bright, oval object over the Detroit River on February 3, 2011, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

"There were no navigation lights and I didn't hear any engine noise," the witness stated. "I also looked up to see if there were any stars visible and I couldn't see any. The strange light didn't move, it just sat there and was very white with a silver edge on the right side. I still thought it might be an airplane, but I knew that airplanes don't typically fly over that early. It looked like a sphere, but I could see that it was somewhat oval."

The witness decided to take a couple of images of the object.

"It seemed that the brightness obscured the actual shape, the clearest view was on the right side of the light. I was so sleepy that I decided to take a couple photos of it and get back in the bed."

Michigan is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating,
with a lower number of UFO sightings nationally. Michigan had 6 UFO reports in January 2011. California had 47 cases, the highest reporting state in the nation.

MI, February 3, 2011 - I saw a strange light in the sky and took a couple of photos of it. MUFON Case # 27647.

I live in a house on the Detroit river across from Winsor, Ontario. I woke up at about 7 am on the morning of 2/3/11. I got up to take the trash out to the end of the driveway. I went downstairs and took the trash out, it was still rather dark and very quiet outside. I came back upstairs to get back in the bed.

On my way past the windows that look out over the Detroit river, I noticed a very bright light in the sky. The light was on the Canadian side of the river. It was so bright that I stopped to watch it to see if it was an airplane coming from Winsor, Canada.

There were no navigation lights and I didn't hear any engine noise. I also looked up to see if there were any stars visible and I couldn't see any. The strange light didn't move, it just sat there and was very white with a silver edge on the right side. I still thought it might be an airplane, but I knew that airplanes don't typically fly over that early. It looked like a sphere, but I could see that it was somewhat oval.

It seemed that the brightness obscured the actual shape, the clearest view was on the right side of the light. I was so sleepy that I decided to take a couple photos of it and get back in the bed. After I got in the bed, I listened to see if I could hear or see (through the sky light) an airplane fly over the house, but I didn't hear or see anything over the next few minutes. I went back to sleep. During the years that I've lived here, I've never seen any light like this in the sky during the morning hours. It didn't flicker like a star and it didn't fluctuate like an airplane light. This light was very still and extreemly bright. I don't know what it was but, it's bothered me ever since I saw it. I hope I never see it again!

All that is, is just spirit lights and you can see spirit in them to if you blow up the photo and sharp it it.

I always find comments like "I was so sleepy that I decided to take a couple of pics of it and then go back to bed" curious. As if that sort of thing happens all the time. So nonchalant. Anytime I've ever seen anything I couldn't explain (a couple of times, in my case), I instantly gave it my full attention. I wanted to watch it for as long as I could so that I could gain some understanding of what it was. Usually, only upon prolonged viewing are you able to see if it's a plane, planet, star, flare, or TRULY something anomolous.

Seems odd to me the way some people react.

UFO's over the Detroit river are not uncommon. The planet itself, in nearly every country has them. I worked for GM at the RenCen building, on the 22nd floor facing Windsor. From the tower I worked, I observed, in 2006, at around 11:00 am, in late August, early September, a highly polished round metalic sphere, come up the river. It was the most shiny, reflective metal I've ever seen. It made no noise, bobbed up and down from the effects of gravity, and had a litte round black ball like object going around it. Not attached. It turned in front of the Rencen, and went up and over the buildings on the Windsor side and up into the only black rain cloud on a clear blue day. Very odd, no one in the lobby saw it, as I questioned many people. The object was not large, and at first looked like a light strobe from an airplane when I first saw.
