For the music listener who enjoys a coffee buzz at night, and even for the one who prefers decaf, the Flying M Coffee Garage can cater to an experienced palette for both coffe and music.
A popular Treasure Valley music venue for some time now, the Flying M hosts shows as often as anyone around, and what you get is more than worth the $3 to $6 cover charge at the door. Nathan Walker, bass player for local Indie-Rock group, The Invasion, runs sound in the converted car garage. From the crisp and accurate Sennheiser vocal mics, to the loud and clear JBL main speakers, there is a host of quality sound equipment that captures the unique acoustics of the room. It's through this, that the concert experience at the Flying M becomes up close, personal, and a whole lot of fun.
The Flying M has hosted touring acts such as His Name Shall Breathe and Arizona (a Flying M favorite), but also supports the local music scene by hosting a local on almost every show. The booking staff at this venue are laid back, kind, and can most often accomodate a band's needs, and though they often can't pay, they provide free coffee and pasteries to performers. This uniqe characteristic has earned them a warm spot in the hearts of Boise musicians. Local pop band, The Very Most has even dedicated them a song, whose title, "Finestore", is a tribute to the rearranged "Firestone" lettering found above the stage in the Flying M- a quaint reminder of the unique atmosphere that a crowd of college age coffee/music lovers can create.
