For the past twenty one years the Outsider Art Fair has been the world’s foremost annual show of Outsider, Self-Taught and Folk Art. It usually takes place in the winter but this year for the first time it will take place in the spring from Thursday May 8 through Sunday May 11, 2014 in New York City.
The Outsider Art Fair showcases work by artists who have been obscure, neglected or invisible. There will be over forty international galleries installed on three floors on Center 548. Eleven galleries are scheduled to return offering newly discovered works by legendary outsiders. This year’s fair will feature artists from countries including the Democratic Republic of the Congo, New Zealand, and Brazil.
Some of the exhibitors include:
- American Primitive Gallery - New York
- Ames Gallery - Berkeley
- Andrew Edlin Gallery - New York
- Baumann + Muksian - Basel/San Francisco
- Carl Hammer Gallery - Chicago
