The Outré Theatre Company, who is known for brave new stage works present a concert of "The Journey". The new musical was created by Kristen Long, C. Stefan King, and is directed by a Florida favorite Artist Sabrina Lynn Gore. The stories of five individuals, connected to one another by fate have created a brave new musical.

The fun in the sun arts destination may never be the same as Outré Theatre Company present a powerful new musical that hits every nerve. It captures New Orleans Voodoo, taking theatre lovers on The Journey diving into every subject that America is dealing with. If sex, drugs, prostitution, homeless and unemployment have not reached your home life, than Outre Theatre Company will inundate you on The Journey. The new musical may help you set New Year resolutions, or at least prepare you, or a freind for The Journey.

Outré Theatre's brings back their heavy weight Actors and alums that include Glenellen Anderson, Jordon Armstrong, Natalia Coego, Robert Johnston, Michael Mena, Francisca Munoz, Sharyn Peoples, and Courtney Poston. They are joined by Outré newcomers Elijah Davis, Annette DeNoyer, Cristina Flores, Nicole Kinzel, Kunya Rowley, Alisha Todd, and Jon Yepez. The World Premiere of "The Journey" is a jazzy, bluesy, gritty new musical that comes at the perfect time, as we start the 2014 New Year.

Is the New Year already written as fate? Can a change in course prepare you for "The Journey"? The Journey is set in a post-Katrina New Orleans, a place full of magic and dreams. When a group of street performers appear, they are led by a mysterious bum or a magician of sorts. Using street-wise insight, and a little voodoo, the musical takes heart pounding turns. This unlikely griot begins telling the stories of five individuals, connected to one another by fate.

As the eclectic sounds of New Orleans frame these colorful lives, each character chooses his or her own path, striving to find themselves and achieve their dreams. Relationships are tested, as obstacles grow harder to overcome, and identities are lost. Fate may have captured you to see The Journey.

Surrounded by the state of the nation, they are living in the dark world of unemployment, homelessness, abuse, prostitution, and drugs. But, there is still a common understanding of each character of "The Journey" that they must come to terms with... Fate is only a matter of the choices we make. Life is only a journey, and where you go is up to you. So go to Outré Theatre as they present the newest musical of the season.

The Journey runs January 17-19, 2014, with performances Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Performances are in the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center located at 201 Plaza Real in Boca Raton.
