On the shores of Lake Erie in January, the weather may be cold and the sky dreary; but in the Cleveland music scene there are a few bands that can take you straight to another set of shores—the Jamaican shores dancing with the Reggae vibe. One of these spirited, lively bands is Outlaws I & I.
The Outlaws are lead by front man Butchie B, whose lively stage presence can engage the most hesitant of audiences. His moves on stage, coupled with his regular forays into the crowd are truly infectious. He is backed up by Chopper groovin’ and thumpin’ on the bass and Gino Long slamming into the strings on his guitar. Regularly, Outlaws I & I are filled out by Spanky on drums and Eddie Mars on keys, but at times these positions get rotated—such as their recent performance in Maple Heights at the Maple Grove Bar.
The Outlaws shook the rafters of the Maple Grove Bar on Saturday, January 21st. On this snowy winter night they turned up the heat inside with the assistance of Ryan “The Lion” Mitiska tearing up the keys and Marlon “Rastafoot” Harris banging it out on the drums. Even with the small crowd, Outlaws I & I never let the energy wane for a moment, engaging every person in the room.
This Saturday night, January 28th, Outlaws I & I will once again be sharing their Reggae vibe and melting away the shivers of the Ohio cold. They will be performing at Mutt & Jeff’s at 3700 Oberlin Ave in Lorain.
