'Outlast' on Xbox One: Dev says 'our goal is to reach the maximum of players'

Today is a great day if you own a PS4 because Outlast is now available and if you are a PS Plus member, it's free. However, for those who are adopters of the Xbox One, you may be wondering when and if you'll have the chance to play Outlast on your system.

Recently, Philippe Morin, who is the co-founder of Red Barrels, spoke about the possibility of bringing Outlast to the Xbox One as well as the type of things the team debated about internally when creating the game.

"Can’t confirm anything at this point, but our goal is to reach the maximum of players.

"We had a lot of heated debates internally. We wanted to create emotions, but we did not wanted to go overboard.

"At the end of the day, there’s only one way to find the limit and that’s by testing it. We have a lot more ideas, but we’ll try them progressively," Morin said.

Outlast was first released on the PC and received a lot of praise from players, which was much to the surprise of the development team. With this next version of the game coming to the PS4, it certainly is a great chance for Outlast to reach another interested audience.

It always seems to be likely that games like this, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and War Thunder will eventually hit whatever next-gen platform they currently aren't launching on, but that's only after their timed console deals have expired.

PS4 owners can purchase Outlast today, and if you're a PS Plus subscriber, it's free. For all of our latest exclusives, previews, reviews and features, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook. Game On.
