The Salt Lake mountain air felt good on the lungs Tuesday as thousands of Outdoor Retailer attendees channeled their inner child and tested out new products at Solitude Mountain Resort.
The all mountain demo day is designed for attendees to sample new products on the snow where they are made to perform. Show goers enjoyed an array of products such as: snowshoes, skis, snowboards, and even cross country skis. There were plenty of products to test and try along with the appropriate accessories like poles, boots, and goggles. There was also a nice spread of food and beer provided by Sierra Nevada Brewing.
As if on cue, the sun shone throughout the day, warming the air making it "t-shirt skiing weather" according to some. The ambiance at the expo was that of a relaxed excitement. People were commenting on the different products as companies watched their innovative ideas be brought to life.
Some favorite exhibits from the day were from ICEtrekkers, ProBar, and Fox River.
ICEtrekkers had their Diamond Grip product on display. These little babies attach to the bottom of any shoe, and they provide grip on mud, gravel, and icy surfaces. They are made with hardened steel alloy with good edges to grip onto everything. They also self clear so there is no build up of snow or ice on your feet.
ProBar was handing out their new FUEL Superfood Energy Bar. It is made gluten-free and contains Chia seeds and a full serving of fruit and it is Non-GMO project verified. It is a good snack bar that gives you easily digestible energy. The bar is Vegan friendly and dairy free, sure to please any crowd.
Finally, Fox River was showing their new socks for skiing and snowboarding. They feature strategic padding to make the sock very comfortable and also WickDry technology that keeps moisture away from the feet, helping them to stay warm and dry.
At the end of the demo day, it was nice to sit by the bonfire and listen to music, with the smell of hot dogs, beer, and campfire smoke wafting through the air.
