Outback Steakhouse partners with Stewart-Haas Racing for 2012

Outback Steakhouse has formed a partnership with Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) to be the primary sponsor of the No. 39 team and driver Ryan Newman for two races in 2012 and to be an associate sponsor during the other race weekends in 2012, the team announced Friday.  This is SHR’s second sponsorship announcement in November.

SHR owner Tony Stewart announced earlier this month that the company had formed a partnership with Quicken Loans Inc., to be the primary sponsor of the No. 39 team and driver Ryan Newman for nine races in 2012. When not serving as a primary sponsor, the company will be an associate sponsor on both the No. 39 and the No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet Impala of Stewart throughout the 2012 Sprint Cup season.

In addition to Outback Steakhouse and Quicken Loans, Tornados and the U.S. Army also serve as primary sponsors of the No. 39 team for SHR, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team co-owned by Stewart and Gene Haas.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Outback Steakhouse, and I know why it’s been voted the best steak year in and year out,” said Newman.  “They have a quality product that I’m very familiar with and we’re certainly proud to be representing Outback Steakhouse on the racetrack.”

“We’re honored to have Outback Steakhouse join Stewart-Haas Racing,” added Stewart, who is trailing Carl Edwards in the Chase for the Sprint Cup by only three points heading into Sunday’s season finale.  “The company’s reputation for quality and great service is second to none in the restaurant industry, and it’s a true pleasure to be associated with a company and a product that is admired by so many, including myself. We’re looking forward to doing some great things together on and off the racetrack.”
