Out to Work @ the Center: find your queer self a new queer job

Okay maybe all the jobs aren't queer, but at least they're being offered by businesses gay friendly enough to come hang out all day with an expected 3,000 LGBTfolk. That's a start!

The Out to Work LGBT job fair is happening Thursday, September 17, starting at 11 AM and finishing up at 4 PM. It will be at the Center, which is 208 W 13th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues. The event is free to attendees, but it's best to pre-register to assure your place and to put your name in the proverbial hat for some awesome door prizes including a crazy gay vacation in Atlantic City.

Exhibitors include the usual gay suspects like such as Callen-Lorde Health Center, Empire State Pride Agenda, Gay City News, Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), Gay Mens Health Crisis (GMHC) and
GO Magazine as well as tons of arts and media folks (CBS/Showtime, HBO,  etc) and other companies that do, you know, important things with money and stuff (Chase, Financial Services Industry Exchange).

If you don't have hard copies of your resume handy, you print some from a thumb drive at the Cyber Center on the second floor. It'll cost you 3 bucks to use the computer and ten cents a page for printing, but it beats the bajesus out of Kinkos. And no one will look at you weird because you have "Organizer, 1998 Philadelphia Dyke March" listed under "leadership experience."
