Out-of-state left wing org to run ads filled with lies about Medicaid Expansion

A radio ad that will be hitting New Hampshire airways this week is deceiving Granite Staters about SB 413Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion. The ad, produced by an out-of-state left wing organization called “Americans United for Change” (AUFC - paid for by Labor Unions and far left wing organization MoveOn), makes statements that simply aren’t true. This shouldn’t come as a surprise since anyone supporting Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion has been either lying or living in a fantasy world. Below are claims from the ad and facts they are denying:

CLAIM: Granite Staters are proud to live free or die. But why should so many live sick and die young when they don’t have to? Too many working families in New Hampshire lack access to quality, affordable health care and put off needed care until it requires an ambulance ride.

FACTS: Everyone has access to quality care in New Hampshire. The affordability is questionable but thanks to government intervention into healthcare many years ago and during the reign of Jeanne Shaheen as Governor of the Granite State. This was when Shaheen made health insurance practically unaffordable due to ridiculous coverage mandates and driving out competition. Expanding Medicaid under Obamacare will not stop emergency room visits – facts have shown they actually increase under Medicaid Expansion. According to a demographic study of the Granite State, the population over 65 is slated to double in the next 10 years. Where are all these people ‘dying young’? It’s a lie.

CLAIM: Too many live one medical emergency away from bankruptcy. That’s no way to live – and everyone else winds up picking up the tab for uncompensated ER care – raising our premiums by nearly a thousand dollars a year.

FACTS: The bankruptcy claim due to medical expenses has been debunked over and over again. It is a lie perpetrated by the left to scare people into believing government-run medical programs actually help people rather than hurt them. Those who purchase their own insurance through their employers or a private exchange have been picking up the tab for the uninsured for decades thanks to the federal government mandate that emergency rooms take care of all people regardless of ability to pay. Inserting more federal government intervention into the healthcare system won’t stop that from happening. Health insurance premiums are not going to decrease if Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion is forced upon the Granite State. The sponsors of the bill have already attested to this.

CLAIM: Our State legislature could vote to accept available federal funds to provide health care to 42,000 hard-working Granite Staters. And more people insured in our state means more jobs to provide the care.

FACTS: Those federal funds they speak about come from the hard-earned federal income taxes of Granite Staters. The funds are part of Obamacare. The majority of New Hampshire residents are deadest against Obamacare (notice the ad didn’t call it that). The federal funds start decreasing in 3 years and then what? The state of New Hampshire will be on the hook for over $100 million to pay for the health insurance that most of the people eligible already pay for on their own.

FACT: Since Obamacare’s rollout, the medical industry, for the first time in decades, has been cutting workers. It was another big Obamacare lie that it would help the economy by creating jobs.

So many lies so little time. This out-of-state left wing organization doesn’t even call Senator Rausch by his actual name (it’s Jim not John). This group uses the failed NEC poll that was ripped apart yesterday for its bias. They tout a program that has proven to hurt other states and not actually help the people who are forced on it with better outcomes. AUFC completely neglects to mention (as did the poll yesterday) that this is Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion. Nor do they explain that the majority of people eligible are able-bodied workers who either choose to work part-time and/or already have health insurance that the taxpayers will now be paying for.

Remember the last time someone told lies about Obamacare? Obama, Shaheen and Shea-Porter were the biggest liars of the year and people suffered. It’s time to ignore the lies and demand the truth. It’s bad enough New Hampshire’s own representatives lied to them, now there’s a completely partisan out-of-state group doing the same thing. Granite Staters deserves better.
