Hiking adventures with the kids have produced many a memorable moment and many unique finds. Recently, a ladder and a grocery cart were found along a trail seemingly out of place. It is always interesting to find anything somewhere it usually does not reside. Most likely, you the reader have a few stories of bizarre findings.
Sometimes our life circumstances and choices put us into a seemingly "out of place" state. Sometimes being in God's will does this and other times being out of God's will can do this. A period of desert growth, a period of discipline, a season of rebellion and sin, a season of severe pruning, a season of learning to trust no one but Christ, and the list can go on for the beloved of God, those chosen. Throughout the chosen Jewish people's history they constantly rebelled and got themselves "out of place" yet God always saved a remnant and God was still their God despite their rejections of Him. His has always been a faithful love despite a constant disobedience by His chosen ones. God's Word states He is Faithful and True.
For those not yet delivered by the saving grace of Jesus through His death, burial and resurrection, their "out of place" state is most dangerous as God's wrath still stands, but thanks be to God that the unsaved have a hope that while they are yet sinners Christ died for them. This is God's kindness that leads to repentance that Romans points out.
Read the following truths in God's Word and ask the Lord to expose the whys if you are feeling "out of place." It is a gift of God's Spirit if you are feeling "out of place." If you are desiring to follow Christ and are "out of place" stick with the basics: obey and you will bloom where you are planted as the saying goes. Life oftentimes gets confusing, but Christ is not the author of confusion. Our Enemy is the confuser. You may also being wooed by God's Spirit to enter into His salvation and you will not feel "in place" until this happens.
"You have encircled me; You have placed Your hand on me." Psalm 139:5 HCSB
"For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said: 'You will be delivered by returning and resting; your strength will lie in quiet confidence. But you are not willing.' You say, 'No!
We will escape on horses'—therefore you will escape!—and, 'We will ride on fast horses'—
but those who pursue you will be faster. One thousand will flee at the threat of one, at the threat of five you will flee, until you alone remain like a solitary pole on a mountaintop
or a banner on a hill. Therefore the Lord is waiting to show you mercy, and is rising up to show you compassion, for the Lord is a just God. All who wait patiently for Him are happy." Isaiah 30:15-18 HCSB
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 HCSB
