OurFilmSpace and a campaign for Indy film funding

One of the ongoing themes of The Boston Film Industry Examiner is the struggle to fund the impecunious artist.  That would be most everyone in independent film.  When anyone comes up with a new idea, we are happy to give them some publicity.  The folks at OurFilmSpace have a new campaign that you can read about below.

OurFilmSpace Announces its Fearless Filmmaker Project – Wanna Get Your Project Funded? Read On!

Are you a Fearless Filmmaker?  Or - Talent Looking to Produce a Project and Star in it to Jumpstart your career?  Then You Might Like This!  OurFilmSpace wants to help filmmakers, talent and industry professionals – both above the line and below the line -- get their projects funded!

To that end – we are announcing the OFS “Fearless Filmmaker Project” which plans to fund 12 projects a year by recruiting, selecting, promoting, and soliciting funds through its membership and across social media to fund one project a month!    There is no obligation to participate but this sure will be fun to be involved in this!!!

The first project – which is the maiden voyage for the project – is the local indie film everyone is talking about – Dudleytown Curse – the 49th Key – we need finishing/post production funds to complete post production on the project!  Click Here to Check out the Dudleytown Curse Facebook Page for More Info on the Indie Feature Film!

A new project will be selected every month – the next one being February 1, 2012!  It can be a short film, a feature, web series, documentary or narrative – live action or animated so get your project ideas in now – there is no fee for submissions – you can submit for free.  If you want to help fund indie film projects on OurFilmSpace, the minimum contribution to the Fearless Filmmaker Campaign is only $5.00 – a little more than a Caramel Macchiato (but anything above that you can do is great!).  If each OFS Member contributed only $5.00, we could do a lot of funding!

You must be an OurFilmSpace Member to be Eligible to Submit a Project for Consideration!  Submit your pitch, script, or concept to:  doug@ourfilmspace.com for the next project! We will go to the mat to help start and implement a fundraise campaign starting February 1, 2012 – on that date for the project selected, we will launch an all out campaign to help that project fundraise through the end of February!  In the meantime, please contribute a minimum of $5.00 (and more if you can) to help complete the indie feature film “Dudleytown Curse – the 49th Key”!    If we all work together, there is so much we can do – imagine funding 12 indie projects a year!

Click Here to make a minimum contribution of $5.00 (or more if you can!) to the OFS Fund.  Remember - the first maiden project is Dudleytown Curse - so all proceeds through February 1, 2012 will got to that project!  We will publish results weekly so you can follow the progress!  Click Here Now to Make a Contribution to the Fearless Filmmaker Project!

Richard Murphy saw his first movie at four years of age and has loved cinema ever since. He is especially fond of film noir, which is surprising considering his sunny disposition. Richard can be reached at alabunz@gmail.com
