There are books, poems and movies full of stories of romance and love.
Our delight and cherishing of them is evident as we either read or watch them over and over again.
This Valentine's Day I thought about writing one of my own and just I was putting the elements together for a work of fiction, the one story I know only too well kept playing in my mind.
So I set to work and just so you know, this is not a work of fiction.
This story is real and every word is true.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

"Our Winter Love.....
It was the winter of 1983 and in the rush of the busy afternoon, she went about fulfilling the commands of her usual day.
The video store was its usual busy and she straightened, catalogued, sent movies out and checked them back in, as time itself seemed to melt away.
Softly she hummed the music she would sing later that night in the place of her second job
Looking forward to that part of her very long day, singing the music that she loved.
So far the day had flown by nearly unnoticed as the last of the first wave of late afternoon customers finally made their way out the door.
Breathing in her moments peace, she changed the movie in the player and in a moment it all began just as before.
Her assistant arrived amid the second wave of customers more boisterous than the first.
When suddenly the ringing of the phone made its way over the din and she swears to this day that she sensed a sudden shift in the earth.
She moved quickly to the phone and placing the receiver to her ear the kindest voice she had ever heard, softly called out her name.
Suddenly, it was as if time had stopped and something deep within her soul sent his words straight to her heart as she somehow half-recognized the sound of his name.
She didn't know it then but God had just opened the first of the gates.
And as time would unfold, these two souls would come to know the reason they were made.
An appointment was made and the next day their eyes would meet for the very first time.
From that moment love between them began to grow, though they couldn't know, that God had just placed their feet on the road that these two would travel together for the rest of their lives.
On the Valentine's Day, he asked her to become his wife and she answered "yes" and the ring he gave her brought the promise of their life.
In time they would come and pledge their lives together before the Lord their God.
And He blessed them in kind with a Daughter and two Sons
To live in the gift of His ever abiding love.
And what God joined together stands strong amidst the storms and changing seasons of life.
Bringing joy ever after to this two He made one...when He made them Husband and Wife."
