Since it was started by Peanut Butter Wolf in 1996, Stones Throw Records has ingrained itself into Los Angeles culture and set the tone for the underground to always be ahead of the curve. And now fans can go behind the scenes to learn about the cult label's journey from birth all the way up to right now.

Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton: This Is Stones Throw Records is a new documentary, directed by Jeff Broadway, that gives fans a unique chance to hear from the owner and the artists themselves about what makes the independent label, which has been the home of artists like Dam-Funk, Snoop Dogg, J Dilla, Aloe Blacc, Homeboy Sandman, Madlib, MF DOOM and more.

"Stones Throw has figured out a way to remain 100% independent and solvent in a very difficult age for the music business," said the film's director and co-writer Jeff Broadway. "I think the diversity within the catalogue is unparalleled as well. I was always interested in making films that were driven by music and that element of Stones Throw always really appealed to me. I'm proud to be a part of it," he added.

Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton offers insight from many of Stones Throw's artists on how the label transcended music and became a way of life. It's a must see for any true music fan and it will be available nationwide on May 27.
