Our State magazine plans to bring the pages of its magazine to life when it hosts a luxury weekend for readers at the five-star Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, N.C., Feb. 28-March 2, 2014.
Since 1933, Our State has been sharing North Carolina stories from the coast to the mountains. More than a dozen times a year, the magazine likes to let readers experience the stories they read about monthly.
“It brings the pages of our magazine to life in a special weekend created just for them,” commented Amy Wood Pasquini, Director of Marketing Development for Our State magazine, based in Greensboro, N.C. “It enables us to become three-dimensional."
Raleigh, the state’s capital city, is known for its thriving art and culinary scene. The Umstead Hotel and Spa makes the perfect host for this special crafted weekend. Not only is it the area’s premiere five-star hotel, with the five-star award-winning restaurant Herons, but it also is a working art gallery with a permanent art collection in addition to rotating works of art in seasonal collections.
This weekend getaway to Raleigh will also include a behind-the-scenes tour of the North Carolina Museum of Art, a private lunch with Museum Director Larry Wheeler, a special chocolate tasting with the Umstead’s pastry chef, Daniel Benjamin, storytelling by the acclaimed The Monti, and a three-course dinner with wine prepared by Herons Executive Chef Scott Crawford.
"The cuisine at the Umstead will certainly be something to look forward to during our weekend," added Pasquini.
The luxury weekend package is $1,500 for two nights’ accommodations, and includes all meals and experiences. For your reservations and more information, contact the Umstead Hotel and Spa.
