We decry the senseless murder of innocent children at a school and the perverted treatment of little ones in the child sex industry, but then turn a blind eye to the greatest abuse of our children, abortion. I somehow think that generations from today our descendants will look back at us as a very primitive and barbaric world.
This is not to disavow the legitimate reasons for ending a child's life, especially when it is that most awful of medical decisions between one life or another. The problem is that we make the exception the rule. Most of the time we kill an innocent child for convenience alone. Yes, I say child, because to call it a fetus is to deny its humanity in today's use of language. So, let's get over that stupidity and call a spade a spade. We are a terribly uncivilized peoples.
We are of all creatures the most hypocritical. The news is filled again with the horrors of another rape and we rightly have sympathy for the victims of rape. Yet often in similar cases, we punish the wrong people. We punish the innocent children who had nothing to do with the crime, but are just as much victims as the mothers were.
We decry our national war crimes like the tortures committed in Guantanamo Bay. We decry the senseless abuse and killing of animals. We decry all kinds of terrorism except our own home-grown terrorism against the innocents. When will we stop?
