Oshkosh police searching for man who threw two-week-old puppy in trash

The Oshkosh Police Department is asking for the public's help finding the man who dumped a two-week-old puppy in a dumpster behind the Planeview Travel Plaza along Highway 41 on Thursday. A security camera picked up the man holding a black trash bag. When he walked away, his hands were empty.

If you recognize this man, please call the Oshkosh Police Department,

The puppy was found an hour later by another man who heard cries coming from one of the dumpsters. He found the puppy in a trash bag. Just minutes later, garbage trucks stopped for their morning pickup.

The puppy is now in the care of the Oshkosh Area Humane Society where she was immediately taken to the Lakeside Animal Hospital. Named Hazel, x-rays reveal a spinal injury and possible congenital deformities, but the puppy is too young to make a definitive diagnosis.

At this time, the little one is in foster care and is being administered pain medication. If you would like to help Hazel with her medical expenses, please click here.

As to the heartless culprit who threw this innocent little puppy in the trash, photos of the suspect and his truck are available on the Planeview Travel Plaza Facebook. If you have any information or recognize this man, please call 920.236.5700.
