Oscars week hits a fever pitch with swag-frenzied events and parties galore

It’s swag-city in Los Angeles from Beverly Hills to Hollywood with posh, star-studded gifting rooms going full speed. Tomorrow, Saturday March 1, Academy Award’s eve, is rife with secret spots where A-list celebrities and invited media, get to mingle, dine on gourmet food and fill big bags with everything from jewelry to gift cards good for trips to the Bahamas, Italy, St. Marten and more, hair and spa treatments and even motor scooters and home furnishings.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t rain too much on the parade of superstars hitting the lounges. We are sworn to secrecy and can’t reveal locations but we can tell that Wolfgang Puck is catering the one this journalist is attending, yummy.

You might want to read about the last venue this Examiner attended at --it was a swag feeding frenzy that way outside the gift bags with famous faces everywhere posing for photos and filling their canvas totes. I am still unpacking mine.

For non-LA residents reading this, you really have to be here to get the drift of what’s it like living in tinsel town during the Oscars. Traffic is bumper-to-bumper, restaurants are packed, hotels are over-booked and Academy Awards’ TV-viewing parties are in the works in homes and gardens throughout the greater metropolitan area (some starting as early as 3 p.m.).

If you're having guests over on Sunday to watch the 86th Academy Awards presentation you may want to watch the video for a few good hosting tips.
