It was released on Feb. 7, 2014, that the Oscars will celebrate this year's Academy Award nominees with a luncheon on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. In attendance will be over 150 nominees that will include fifteen nominees in the acting categories.
Each year the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences holds this exclusive, casual luncheon to pay tribute to all the nominees and their accomplishments. The event also includes a time for the Academy to take portraits of the nominated actors and a large group shot, known as the class photo, which is taken of all nominees in attendance.
Lead Actor nominees in attendance will be Christian Bale ("American Hustle"), Bruce Dern ("Nebraska"), Leonardo DiCaprio ("The Wolf of Wall Street") and Matthew McConaughey ("Dallas Buyers Club").
Supporting actor/actress nominees will include Barkhad Abdi ("Captain Phillips"), Bradley Cooper ("American Hustle"), Jonah Hill ("The Wolf of Wall Street"), Jared Leto ("Dallas Buyers Club"), Lupita Nyong'o ("12 Years a Slave"), Julia Roberts ("August: Osage County") and June Squibb ("Nebraska").
All five of the Best Director nominees are expected to attend, including Alfonso Cuarón ("Gravity"), Steve McQueen ("12 Years a Slave"), Alexander Payne ("Nebraska"), David O. Russell ("American Hustle") and Martin Scorsese ("The Wolf of Wall Street").
At a recent Q&A in Palm Desert, Oscar nominee Jonah Hill told audiences that it was this lunch, during his first nomination for his performance in "Money Ball" that he met director Martin Scorsese and thus brought Hill to a new level of filmmaking. So, we will look to this coming lunch to see how the ultimate Hollywood networking luncheon can bring more opportunities to the first-time nominees.
The 86th Annual Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014, and will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. The night will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres live on ABC and will be televised in more than 225 countries worldwide.

Whatever your movie choice this week, please remember your movie theater etiquette: silence your cell phones and no texting, please don't talk during the film and remove your children if they become a distraction to other audience members. Don't forget that laughing, crying and cheering are always approved behavior and even encouraged.
