Oscars in Review: All the Winners, Losers and Laughs

This year's Oscars had a bit of it all, excitement, laughs, digs at celebs, and of course all of the winners and losers. 12 Years a Slave took home the biggest prize of the night, the win for Best Picture and also won a nod for Lupita Nyong'o for Best Supporting Actress. Gravity was the overall prize winner for the night with seven Oscar wins, including a win for Best director Cuaron.

Gravity took home the most trophies for the night yet other films took home notable wins. Dallas Buyers Club took home three awards including Best Actor for Matthew McConaughey and Supporting Actor for Jared Leto. Other winners included: Frozen managed to take home the Best Animated Feature as well as the award for Best Song entitled "Let It Go". The Great Gatsby won two Oscars, for production design and costume design.

Ellen DeGeneres hosted and in her opening monologue provided a few digs and laughs to get the show rolling. As she scans the room, poking fun at the nominees both American Hustle stars get in on the action. Amy Adams gets poked at for being "selfish" on her appearance in two nominated films Her and American Hustle. An almost too easy target for DeGeneres, Jennifer Lawrence may not ever be able to live down her fall at the Oscars last year, and this year's awards started in similar fashion with her taking a tumble on the red carpet. American Hustle although nominated for 10 awards, did not take home any of the coveted statues. DeGeneres ended her monologue by saying, "Possibility #1, 12 Years a Slave wins Best Picture”. Possibility #2, you’re all racists.” She then introduced the first “white presenter,” of the night Anne Hathaway. DeGeneres opened the night the kind of laughs we have come to expect from her.

DeGeneres managed to keep the show moving with relative ease and got many of the actors in on a few of her bits, showing up in random seats in the audience, taking selfies (at one point shutting down Twitter) and even "ordering a pizza" which this bit ran throughout most of the show. Both the Twitter RT for her group celebrity photo and ordering pizza for the audience, are two of the things that will most be remembered from this year's awards.
