Oscars night is party time

When “Good Morning America” Co-Hosts Robin Roberts and Lara Spencer trap celebs on the Red Carpet Sunday, you need a few friends for sharing gown and décolletage thoughts. And when your best movie or actor pick doesn’t take the Oscar, you have to share your “how could they” arguments. So make up a list, pick up the mobile and speed-dial your BFs. It’s time to organize an Oscar party.

First, you can make do with whatever paper party stuff you have left over from New Year’s Eve but if you want something movie-related check out Party City. The company has Hollywood-theme party plates, napkins and gold favors.

Secondly, go to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences history timeline to pick out some trivia Qs you can use during the preshow Red Carpet bit and Oscar commercial breaks. Do you know what won best picture of 1990? Hint: It starred Jessica Tandy.

Third, print off the nominees and their categories or go to My Pics for a ballot. Find a suitable award at a party store or tell the winner the prize is hosting next year’s Oscar party.

If you and your guests want to appear with a celeb on the Red Carpet go to My Oscar Photo ahead of time, so email guests the link now.

You probably know when the Oscars air but as a reminder the show is 6 p.m. CT, March 2, 2014 on ABC.

And have fun even if your picks don’t win and you haven’t seen the movies. After all, if you don’t watch you won’t know what everyone is talking about on Monday morning. Visit Oscar for more information.
