Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres hosted the 86th Annual Academy Awards on March 2 in which the comedian kept the star studded crowd on their toes with a slew of backhanded compliments and a surprise pizza party.

Midway through the ceremony DeGeneres recruited a number of celebrities to join her in a group selfie. The now famous photo includes Meryl Streep, Lupita Nyong’o and her brother, Julia Roberts, Jared Leto, Brad and Angelina, Kevin Spacey, Bradley Cooper and a few others who decided to join the history making photo.

DeGeneres posted the photo to her Twitter account with the caption “If only Bradley’s arms were longer. Best photo ever.” Within minutes the photo received over two million views and over a half of a million favorites. The overwhelming response caused Twitter to crash for a few minutes following the post by DeGeneres the New York Daily News reports.

The star studded selfie made Twitter history and has been the most retweeted photo ever.

The comical host’s use of satire may have caused some irritability in some of the stars but by the end of the ceremony most will agree that DeGeneres has succeeded in hosting a ceremony that will be remembered.
