The 87th Academy Awards took place on Sunday March 2, 2014. The night was full of glitz, glamour and the awarding of the coveted little statues known as the Oscar. The night started on the Red Carpet as the stars paraded along in their designer finery, some of the dresses stood out others were best left hanging in the closet.
Once inside, the festivities started with a comedic monologue from emcee Ellen DeGeneres who poked fun at numerous stars seated in the crowd. Then came the award's presentations, with not many surprises because most of the predicted stars and films walked away with Oscars. Here is a list of the top winners at the:

The Academy Awards ended much as they began with a lot of glitz and glamour as the stars moved from the Dolby Theater to the various parties which popped up all over Hollywood.
The Oscars are the pinnacle of the Hollywood movie machine's season. They highlight the best and brightest stars and films of the season but they pale in comparison to what awaits each Believer as they pass from this life into eternity. Nothing can compare with the splendor of Heaven. Not the Oscars, the Golden Globes or even a Royal Wedding.
While the Bible doesn't give a detailed description of Heaven there are some glimpses into what Heaven will be like.
- Heaven is a place for the "good and faithful servants. (Matthew 25:21)
- Heaven will not be like this earth it will be paradise. (Luke 23:43)
- In Heaven Christian's will have their own place to live. (John 14:2)
- Heaven is a place filled with God's glory. (Acts 7:55)
- Best of all in Heaven all will be in the presence of Jesus. (1 John 3:2)
- Heaven is a Golden City of jewels. (Revelation 21:12)
- Heaven has no night or day because is the true light. (Revelation 22:5)
- The Garden of Eden will be restored. (Revelation 22:1-2)
These are only a few of the glimpses of Heaven offered in the Bible. There are other descriptions of Heaven which are metaphoric in nature, some are glimpses of Heaven which God allowed through dreams and some like Isaiah 6:1-8 seem to be a first hand accounts.
The Bible is clear Heaven is a real place and it is going to be a place where glitz and glamour will be replaced with the glory and majesty of God and the A-listers will be those who have bowed the knee and in faith have received Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
