The 86th Academy Awards took place live from The Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Sunday,

March 2nd. The show was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. Artists Kristen Alderson Lopez and Robert Lopez won the Oscar for their song "Let It Go" from the movie "Frozen". This was their first win.

The duo accepted their speech stating ""And to our fellow nominees, you are all rock stars. We have so many people to thank, luckily, everybody’s name rhymes. Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jennifer Lee, Peter Del V." Then both singing: Happy Oscars to you. Let’s do Frozen 2."

After thanking more people they closed their speech out with "Our girls Katie and Annie. This song is inspired by our love for you and the hope that you never let fear or shame keep you from celebrating the unique people that you are. Thank you, we love you."

Music nominees included U2, Pharrell Williams, Spike Jonze, Karen O, Kristen Anderson- Lopez and Robert Lopez, Thomas Newman, Alexandre Desplat, Steven Price, John Williams, William Bultler and Owen Pallatte.

Also at the awards were performances by Pink, Idina Menzel, Bette Midler, Pharrell Williams and U2.
