When it comes to Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence, we know she is not afraid to go simple, or rock big and bold when it comes red carpet events. That is one of the reasons why she is one of the most buzzed about fashionistas on the Oscar 2013 red carpet.
If she decides to go for couture, there’s a whole lot to choose from. Dior, Valentino and Elie Saab had great gowns on the runway as did Armani Prive and Galliano. Even, Chanel with its emphasis on bold red, black and white has something for everyone, but we don’t really see her in Chanel.
Who will she wear? What will she wear? Will she choose something from the Pre-Fall looks or give us something fresh from Paris’s recently wrapped up Spring/Summer 2013 Haute Couture? While, she may be partial to her Christian Dior couture dresses Lawrence is also open to other designers for her red carpet appearances. This year alone, she has worn everyone from Altuzarra to Valentino couture.
The actress wowed us at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards in a stunning, belted black Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 gown. She accessorized her cut-out gown with Jimmy Choo heels, a Roger Vivier clutch, Chopard earrings, bold red lips and red nails.
At the 2013 Golden Globes, she rocked a bold red, strapless Christian Dior haute couture dress, Brian Atwood heels, Chopard jewels, and a Ferragamo clutch.
She was chic in an Altuzarra dress at the 2013 BAFTAs, which she accessorized with Jimmy Choo heels, Kara Ackerman earrings and a Roger Vivier clutch.
The fashionista kept it simple at 2013 the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards in a Valentino Couture dress paired with Roger Vivier heels.
For the 2013 AFI Awards luncheon, Lawrence stunned in a Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 dress, which she paired with colorful Prabal Gurung for Casedei heels and a Jill Millan clutch.
Lawrence also showed off her alluring side in a very sexy, bright blue Victoria Beckham dress and Christian Louboutin heels at the Dom Perignon and W Magazine’s party celebrating the Golden Globes.
Last year, the actress topped our best dressed list for the sheer simplicity of her Oscar look. She set the red carpet bar stylishly high in a stunning, bold red Calvin Klein gown. The gown was custom made for her by Calvin Klein desginer, Franciso Costa. With what was most subtle sexiest red carpet look last award season, Lawrence kept her makeup and her accessories, minimal, paring her dress with a single Chopard bangle, a small Judith Leiber clutch, Jimmy Choo heels, simple hair and makeup.
This year, her designer of choice is anyone’s guess, but we’re betting it will be a red carpet standout. Another thing we’re betting on is that she will rock Chopard.
Lawrence is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the movie, “Silver Linings Playbook.”
The Academy Awards will air at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST on Feb. 24 on ABC.
