One person is clearly unhappy about Farrah Fawcett's snub during the 2010 Oscars: Craig Nevius, a friend who worked with the "Charlie's Angels" star on her "Farrah's Story" documentary.
In a lengthy statement to Radar Online, Nevius berates the Academy for their decision not to include the actress in their annual "In Memoriam" segment for stars who passed away in the past year:
"Farrah's shocking omission from the 'In Memoriam' montage on the Oscars isn't a reflection of Farrah.
"It's a reflection of the producers and of the Academy itself. After all, this is a broadcast - as opposed to a 'production' - that has become all about shuffling winners on and off stage and cutting off acceptance speeches in order to make more air time for jokes without punchlines and scripted spontaneity the likes of which we haven't seen since vaudeville.
"They should be ashamed of themselves and owe a public apology in the name of Farrah Fawcett."
Craig's words are indeed harsh, and there are likely many Farrah Fawcett fans around the globe who feel the same. Other surprising omissions from the "In Memoriam" segment include "Golden Girl" Bea Arthur and Johnny Carson sidekick Ed McMahon.
Should the Oscars apologize to Farrah Fawcett's family and friends? Let me know your thoughts with a comment and stay tuned for more news.
