Broadway Global and Theatre Chat share breaking news of the fight of the century as the musical that could serve this years knock out, "Rocky" opens on Broadway today! But as we were writing this article Playbill broke news that today's show has been canceled do to electrical issues in NYC's mid town. We have had a few direct hits and misses this Broadway season "After Midnight" is still a contender for Best Choreography, Best Orchestrations, even though Fantasia's contract has finished days ago, and k. d. Lang has just put on the guest singer gloves from February 11 through March 9, 2014. "Bridges of Madison County" is still the contender for Best Score and sexiest couple, with Kelli O'Hara and Steven Pasquale. But the dead on Broadway hit for story is "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and War" where it kills in book.

Marketing for "Rocky" say's "Love Wins" so if that is true Rocky Balboa could have been a contender, and still might be for a Tony Award. With over 233,000 You Tube hits this story about a boxer could be the underdog of this Broadway season. Alex Timbers directs this characters have heart. Lyricist Lynn Ahrens shares the Oscar winning journey that the film captured. "Rocky" is a story of a couple who yearn to long for one another, to redeem themselves, and eventually find love.
