Oscar winners 2013: Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway shine

All of the Oscar winners in 2013 were well deserving, but the ladies of the night, Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway were perhaps the most stunning of all the winners, the Denver Post reported on Feb. 25.

Anne Hathaway received her Oscar first, winning the “Best Supporting Actress” category for her role in “Les Miserables.” Anne was classy and gracious in her speech, thanking everyone from her co-stars, family, friends, team, and husband. “It came true,” she said of her long dream to win the award.

Of all the Oscar winners in 2013, Jennifer Lawrence was among the most endearing. Winning the “Best Lead Actress” category for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook,” the “Hunger Games” star had an embarrassing moment on her way to the stage to collect her Academy Award.

Jennifer, in a gorgeous dress, tripped over her gown and fell on the stairs. Always laughing at herself, Lawrence took to the stage as the crowd gave her a standing ovation. In a true Taylor Swift moment, Jennifer looked stunned, overjoyed, and speechless about winning her first Oscar.

Host Seth Macfarlane made the show interesting, along with performances by Adele and Barbara Streisand. Ben Affleck and George Clooney’s “Argo” won “Best Picture,” while Daniel Day-Lewis and Chrisoph Waltz took home the awards for achievement in acting.
