Are you ready to taste Oscar glory, even if the feeling is brief? You just might get that chance in the days before the 2013 Oscars. On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the first ever Oscar Road Trip -- an epic, eleven city tour that will begin on February 4, in New York and end in Hollywood, CA. on February 24, in time for the 85th Annual Academy Awards. The tour is being called a interactive Oscar experience and will be coming to Kansas City on February 14.

According to the Oscar Road Trip website, "Oscar Road Trip is a three-week adventure that will feature an Oscar statue traveling the country and popping up in all kinds of places". Keep posted on the official site, the Oscars Facebook page or Oscar Road Trip Twitter account to find out exactly where the tour will be in your city.
"We created the Oscar Roadtrip to bring the magic and fun of the Oscar ceremony to movie fans across the country," said Josh Spector, managing director of digital media and marketing for the Academy. "The Oscar Roadtrip makes it possible to share the once-in-a-lifetime thrill that only comes from holding an Oscar statuette."
Not much else is known about what exactly will go on during the tour stops, other than everyone will get the chance to handle a real live Oscar trophy. So get your cameras ready and start preparing your speeches. This is your moment to shine.
The 2013 Oscars will take place on Sunday Feb. 24 and will air on ABC. This year, "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane will host the Oscars. This should be interesting.
