Oscar home needs a name; Wolfgang Puck returns to cater

 One thing the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences didn't think they needed to worry about was the name of the building which houses the show.
 
  But, now they do.
 
 When Kodak announced they were filing for bankruptcy, speculation mounted that they would consider pulling their sponsorship of the Kodak Theatre, exclusive home of the Oscars. Now, Kodak has confirmed that a bankruptcy judge, here in the United States, has approved its request to end the deal.
 
 Now, let the new speculation continue. One being, will the Academy take the award show and move it downtown, to the Nokia. But, first, will the name Kodak be on the theatre when the Oscars roll around Feb. 26?

  In other developing Oscar news, Wolfgang Puck is back to create the cuisine for the 18th consecutive year. Puck has been selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to create the menu for the Governors Ball. It is the the celebration that will follow the 84th Academy Awards® on Oscar® Sunday, Feb. 26. "We are so excited to help create a new energy for the Governors Ball this year," said Puck. "With fantastic California ingredients, a few luxuries, and some favorite comfort foods, there will truly be something for everyone, and inspiration for anyone hosting a party at home. We are happy to celebrate Hollywood's brightest stars and most accomplished artists with our culinary artistry."
 
 Wolfgang Puck Catering will serve the Academy's 1,500 Ball guests, including Oscar winners, nominees, presenters and telecast participants.
 
 Furthermore, Jeffrey Kurland will chair the Governors Ball. This will be his third year as the chair of the event. He is an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences governor representing the Art Directors Branch, "This year's Governors Ball re-envisions the celebration. We will offer a radical departure from the traditional sit-down affair, reinforcing the Academy's commitment to originality and excellence," said Kurland. The open format, created by Ball producer Cheryl Cecchetto (she has been chosen for the 23rd consecutive year), to produce the Governors Ball. This year's Ball will allow the 1,500 guests to circulate.
 
 The cuisine is created specifically for the event by master chef Puck. Guests will include Academy Award® winners and nominees, show presenters and other telecast participants.
