As any bride can attest, hair for the big day is a critical part of the overall look, but measuring the right amount of romance with sophistication can be a challenge. The L’Oreal Professionnel team proved at this season’s Bridal Week, however, that attaining the perfect look was anything but difficult.
Oscar de la Renta, known for his accessible yet glamorous collections in both ready to wear and bridal, churned out another impossibly romantic series of gowns leaving even the most skeptical bride clamoring to get her hands on one. Adding to this, lead stylist Yann Varin created an intricate, chic chignon that perfectly complemented the ladylike collection.
Start by dividing your hair into three sections, one from each side of your head and a slightly thicker section down the middle of the scalp. Take the middle section and pull into a very low ponytail and secure with an elastic.
Then wrap the side sections around the middle of the ponytail to create a weaving effect. Texturize the ponytail using L'Oréal Professionnel True Grip and L'Oréal Professionnel Perfect Texture to enhance texture and control volume.
Finish up by weaving a loose braid with the middle section. Tuck the end under the elastic for a polished finish. For the simplistic bride, leave unadorned, or if you’re looking for a more intricate and detailed look, add a jeweled pin or flower.
