With the 84th Annual Academy Awards ceremonies happening this weekend, various venues are hosting their own Oscar parties. In the Chicago area, some of these festivities are donating proceeds to various charities.
Watch the red carpet ceremonies. View the hottest fashions. See the famous couples. The red carpet ceremony is one of the most attracted events during the Oscars.
Join the Red Carpet Party in Chicago at the Quay Restaurant, 465 E. Illinois. With multiple televisions onsite, this event supports the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Buy tickets online at JDRFIllinois.org. Tickets prices are $65/each or $70 at the door. This event includes the Academy Awards viewing ceremony, drinks and appetizers, along with an opportunity to participate in a silent auction. Doors open at 6 pm.
With Oscar themed cocktails and champagne, the Rockit Bar & Grill at 22 W. Hubbard will host an Oscar viewing party with Richard Roeper from Ebert & Roeper. Fundraising for this event goes towards After School Matters, a foundation close to Maggie Daley’s heart. Tickets are $50 each. The Red carpet begins at 5 pm; telecast begins at 6 pm. Must be 21 years or older, provide proof of ID and must be on guest list.
Looking for a formal evening? The dress-up theme event at Gene Siskel Film Center will host Oscar Night America Sunday at 6pm. Guests can experience all the Hollywood glamour with a red carpet hosted by Amanda Puck. With dinner included, the Oscar telecast will be shown on High-Definition Screen. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster. Prices start at $100. Cocktail attire is required.
