Today at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, Patagonia Footwear introduced a collected work of hoofwear that truly represents their schema: Athletic versatility and environmental advocacy.
Activist: In both men’s and women’s styles, this modern take on the outdoor sneaker for day-to-day adventures is lightweight (6.2-8 oz for a half pair), easily packable and features waterproof ripstop nylon uppers and recycled rubber soles. Styles for guys and gals include a mid lace-up boot and a low lace-up sneaker. In keeping with the tradition of what Patagonia is all about, the Activist has rugged outsoles with excellent traction for climbing down rocks or up trees.
Advocate: Continuing to drive awareness for 1% for the Planet, the Advocate is a collection of lightweight shoes with sleek silhouettes. Vegan-friendly, with soft microfiber and rich, smooth leathers from Leather Working Group approved tanneries, the Advocate designs are minimalist, soft flexing and highly packable. Look for the women’s Advocate styles in “Ballet”, “Ballet Smooth”, “Bow”, “Bow Smooth”, “Chukka” and “Chukka Smooth”. Men’s styles come in “Lace Smooth” and “Chukka Smooth”.
Waypoint 6: A sophisticated new leather boot for men with durable, smooth leather uppers that are designed to last a lifetime (with proper care). A 20-percent recycled rubber sole has a separate forefoot and heelpieces to minimize weight and use of rubber. This design also allows for resoling to extend the life of the boot.
Shed Rider: A tall, classic, double-buckle leather boot for women with a medial zipper for easy on and off. A resoleable outsole ensures this boot lasts a long time.
Wintertide: A collection of women’s winter performance boots and shoes with 200 grams of fleece lining and a spun wool toe nest for warmth and comfort. A 20 percent recycled EVA midsole and recycled rubber outsole leaves a soft footprint wherever you go. Available as a lightly insulated lace-up shoe and a mid- and high boot with waterproof bootie construction, style and warmth sans the bulk.
Look for all of the above at retail in Fall 2013.
