"Orphan Black" is back for its second season this spring, and on Wednesday, Sept. 25, BBC America announced production has started. So who's coming back and what can we expect in season 2?
There wouldn’t be an "Orphan Black" to watch without Tatiana Maslany, as the only question regarding her status on the show is how many clones she'll be playing. So far, we've seen her as Sarah, Beth, Katja, Alison, Cosima, Helena, and Rachel, and we expect that list will grow this season. Jordan Gavaris will be back as Felix, Dylan Bruce as Paul, Maria Doyle Kennedy as Mrs. S, Kevin Hanchard as Art, and Michael Mando as Vic. There will be a couple of new characters, and additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
When season 1 ended, Sarah faced off with proclone Rachel, but as soon as she learned that they had patented the clones, she was out of there. However, Alison had signed the contract already, and we don't know what that means for her, and Cosima was sick. Helena had joined Beth and Katja on the list of dead clones. Everything about Mrs. S was called into question, and when Sarah went to get her daughter, Mrs. S and Kira were both gone.
Here's the official synopsis for season 2:
Season 2 hits the ground running with Sarah in a desperate race to find her missing daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler, Alphas). Her scorched earth tactics spark a war with pro-clone, Rachel (Maslany), dividing and imperiling all the clones. As Sarah discovers more about her past, mysterious newcomers appear, but can they be trusted?
"Orphan Black" season 2 will premiere in April 2014. What are you hoping to see this spring?
