Warning: If you do not want to know "Orphan Black" season 2 spoilers, then stop reading.

Viewers are definitely going to learn more about the conspiracy through Rachel Duncan. She is very much connected to the experiment origins and her history will unfold for fans to see. Executive producer John Fawcett explained to Entertainment Weekly,

“I think you could probably tell from the end of season one that Rachel’s got a little bit of heavy to her. And I think what’s interesting to us is that we’re having fun creating a new character this season who isn’t just a heavy. There’s other aspects to her. And that’s been a really fun developing a new girl.”

Executive producer Graeme Manson said,

“No one is just who they seem on Orphan Black. That’s the most important thing. Maybe things get set up as kind of a cliché or as one thing, but we’re always trying to bend it and find the layers to keep it fresh and original.”

Viewers are being promised that even though Rachel is a villain, they will be surprised quite a bit.

When the show returns Cosima will still be sick, but there is more to the story. Fawcett revealed,

“And that is a very pressing bit of drama that is not just straight ahead. It’s got a lot of mystery to it. It’s got a lot of twists and turns to it and it is thematically a big part of season 2 also."

Mason said that it is a genetic biological mystery, which definitely sounds like an interesting twist.

As fans expected, there will be even more clones out there, but they will come about in an unexpected way. Tatiana Maslany, who plays them on the show does an amazing job of making each of the clones appear to be a distinctly unique individual with different quirks and personality traits.

"Orphan Black" season 2 will premiere on BBC America on April 19, 2014.
