The Oroville Rock Reggae Jamfest is set to take off on Saturday 19, 2014 for the first year. Although its a first year run of this particular festival, its an event created and produced by the Reggae wise. Stephen Marley and IFA Journey were childhood friends both "raised by the same elders who coached the late great Bob Marley." They explain the new festival origins as a "no brainer" result of their friendship and lifelong interaction in the Reggae world as artists, producers, actors and children of Reggae. Both sons of Reggae legends, Ras benji and Bob Marley, they have come together to fulfill a "mission to unite the people together in Love and teaching them about Rastafari Culture and Livity."

Wow! Whoa! That's quite a lineup and something the festival can be proud about even before it commences. Oroville may not be a territory known worldwide or even in the Northern States for its Reggae but its bound to become a name easy on many lips once the festival gets off the ground and brings in the crowds. The festival will take place at River Reflections RV Resort and Campground located at 4360 Pacific Heights Road, Oroville, CA. Oroville is located in Butte County of the Sierra Nevada Foothills. "The City is considered the gateway to Lake Oroville and Feather River recreational areas" and has a population of approximately 14,500.

The festival is sponsored by IFA Journey and The Ghetto Youths and honors H.I.M. Majesty's 122 birthday. The location could be warm but there are ample trees and a beautiful river to cool the grounds. Saturday takes off at 11:00 a.m. and runs through 1:00 a.m. and Sunday runs from 11:00 to 12:00 a.m. The festival will also provide a children's area with free face painting and bouncy house. It is requested for parents to please bring water shoes for their children for the swim area. Children under 12 are free with paying adult and tickets are available for one or full weekend passes at Eventbrite.

Picnic tables are in various areas at the venue and table and chairs will be set up in the food court. Camping is also available but Reggae camping typically sells out fast so reserve it promptly if you intend to camp. Otherwise, there are four local hotels that offer a small discount if you call them directly and mention the Oroville Rock Reggae Jamfest as your purpose for the stay.
