Orono/Dexter and Calais/Narraguagus highlight big night in class C girls action

DEXTER---- The first high school basketball tournament game at Cross Insurance Center will be played exactly one month from today.

This evening, it will be a tournament atmosphere for some class C girls basketball teams.

The top four in the current standings are- Dexter, Orono, Narraguagus, Calais.

Dexter will play host to Orono.

Orono (9-1) defeated Dexter 62-45 in their first meeting on December 14th.

The Tigers have won seven straight since that loss to Orono.

Dexter (9-2) has only allowed more than 24 points twice in their last seven games.

The winner of tonight's game will end the evening as the top team in the MPA class C heal point standings.

The Narraguagus girls basketball team will host Calais in another game that will have a huge impact on the class C standings.

Narraguagus (9-1) lost their season opener to Machias 54-52. They followed that with nine straight wins.

Calais (6-2) has lost two straight, including a 52-50 loss at Ellsworth on Monday evening.
