An Ormond Beach woman was killed in a traffic accident Sunday in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. FHP spokesperson Sgt. Kim Montes says 55-year old Meghan Wright was riding a moped southbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard Sunday evening around 8:40 p.m. Troopers say a Jeep driven by a 54-year old Ormond Beach woman made a left turn “…into the direct path of [the moped]…” at River Drive, and the moped struck the right front of the Jeep. Ms. Wright was evidently pronounced dead at the scene by the Medical Examiner, and the FHP says she was wearing a helmet. The Jeep driver was not injured. Troopers say the accident remains under investigation.
