One person was killed in an overnight house fire in Ormond Beach Thursday. Ormond Public Information Officer Loretta Moisio says the fire happened at 10 Sunset Falls Drive, and was reported around 3:30 a.m. by a neighbor. Around half of the house was on fire with flames through the roof when units arrived from the Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach and Volusia County Fire Departments.
The Volusia County Medical Examiner is investigating the cause of death of the unidentified person, and the Florida State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. Damage to the house was estimated at 80-thousand dollars. No other structures were damaged in the incident.
