Orlando weekend fun, part 1: Bands, Brew and BBQ at SeaWorld Orlando

Bands, Brew and BBQ is heading into its final weekend at SeaWorld Orlando, with Hank Williams Jr. taking the stage on Saturday and Alabama appearing on Sunday. Those main stage concerts are always a big draw, but the event is really a fun mix of music, delicious food, kids' activities, visits with Shamu, appearances by the park's animal ambassadors, and of course plenty of brew.

Check out this video for an overview of this SeaWorld Orlando event. It starts at 11:30 a.m. in the Bayside area, but I strongly recommend arriving when the park opens so you can enjoy the rides and shows before heading over to the festival area.

If you don't want to worry about staking out a concert seat early, by a VIP package that includes food and a reserved seat with a great view. Otherwise, if you're in no hurry, you can grab a spot on the lawn if the theater fills up. For those who want to experience the beer, I recommend getting a sampler. You get to pick 10 different types from among more than 100 draft brews. Your only problem will be narrowing down your choices.

Don't forget to bring the kids to the Ports of Call area, which is where the animal ambassadors hang out. There are also kids' games and activities, as well as plenty of shady seating.
